How we can use drones to make useful maps for science

On October 24, 2019, Prof. Alex Wong, a Professor of Physics from the College of San Mateo, demonstrated for students how drones can be used to make maps.  He explained how  by taking pictures of the ground from drones, scientists can make detailed maps of plants, rivers, snow, and many other features of the landscape.
These maps can help scientists understand our world, from the changing plant life in a restored meadow to the locations of tombs and monuments of ancient civilizations.
