Dear Good Shepherd Families,
It is with tremendous gratitude that I can share some of the final numbers for our Fun Run, so far, we have raised $62,302.00. First I'd like to thank our fearless parent leaders: Mrs. Navarrete and Mrs. Demchak. Thanks to their vision and dedication, we were able to execute this event "in-house" for the first time this year, which meant that we dramatically reduced the overhead costs associated with hiring an outside institution. As a result, the bulk of the investment of our very generous friends and family will go directly into the school.
The primary goal of $35K (after expenses) was designated for the school operations budget, which allows us to minimize the annual tuition increase. Beyond that, the remaining funds will go directly into our student playground reserve which was started by the former principal to update our yard space. I am now forming a small parent advisory team to help us determine the best investment of these funds to benefit all students. I look forward to updating you on our timeline of implementation, which began several weeks with the removal of our former damaged play structure.
What I am most proud of is that this exceptionally successful fundraiser was also so joyful for the community. From the costumes to the dancing to the healthy competition between grades, this event brought a great time for all while also serving the school. Thank you so much to everyone, from fundraisers to volunteers to investors. If you have yet to donate, there’s still time! The portal will close this Friday, so take a moment to support our school. We can’t wait to award prizes to the classes with full participation and to others who turn in their donations. I can't wait to see what next year's event will bring!
