 Music

At Good Shepherd School, music education is a cornerstone of a well-rounded education, offering immense benefits to our students. Music enhances academic performance, supports social development, and provides a creative outlet for a child’s growth. Music education stimulates the brain, enriching language skills by exposing students to a wide range of vocabulary through diverse sounds and lyrics. It also introduces children to other languages, laying the foundation for improved communication and cultural understanding.

Integrating music into the educational process ensures our students thrive academically, socially, and creatively, preparing them for success in every aspect of life.

The Good Shepherd School Music Program gives students of every grade a quality music education that broadens their foundation through experiences in singing, playing, analyzing, creating, and listening. The following core elements of music are taught in every grade: pitch (melody and harmony), rhythm (meter, tempo, and articulation), dynamics, and the qualities of timbre and texture. Along with these elements, music notation and sight-reading music are incorporated.
